- Description: Amex is closing the Peacock bundle workaround on the Platinum Card's Digital Entertainment Credit starting August 1 — standalone Peacock subscriptions still qualify.

American Express is tightening the rules on the personal Platinum Card's Digital Entertainment Credit. Effective August 1, 2026, Peacock bundles and add-on subscriptions no longer qualify for the monthly credit.

Standalone Peacock subscriptions purchased directly from Peacock still count. That said, this change likely closes a popular workaround that allowed Peacock members to bundle Apple TV+ with their monthly Peacock subscription. This was possible because Peacock's bundle charges are processed as standard Peacock purchases.

You can continue to use your $25-per-month Digital Entertainment Credit for the following services:

- Disney+ (including the Disney+ Bundle)
- ESPN streaming
- Hulu
- The New York Times
- Paramount+
- Peacock (standalone only)
- The Wall Street Journal
- YouTube Premium and YouTube TV

If you've been covering your Apple TV+ subscription through a Peacock bundle, you've got until the end of July to enjoy it. After that, make sure to switch to a standalone Peacock subscription so your monthly subscription continues to be credited to your Amex Platinum. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay for Apple TV+ separately.
