- Description: Bilt Points now transfer to I Prefer Hotel Rewards at a 1:2 transfer ratio. This sounds generous, but I Prefer points are so weak that the math rarely works.

Bilt just added Preferred Hotels & Resorts as its newest transfer partner, allowing members to transfer Bilt Points to the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program at a 1:2 ratio. This means that 1,000 Bilt points become 2,000 I Prefer points, which can be redeemed at more than 700 independent hotels.

This is Bilt's 24th transfer partner and seventh on the hotel side. However, note that I Prefer points are often worth less than Bilt Points, even if you get double the points when you transfer.

For example, *Frequent Miler's* [reasonable redemption value](https://frequentmiler.com/reasonable-redemption-values-rrvs/?ref=pnm.now) for I Prefer is just 0.5 cents per point, compared to 1.55 cents per point for Bilt. So even though you'd get double the points, you'd still get less value.

It's always nice to see Bilt (or any other transferable points program) add a new transfer partner. However, you'll be hard-pressed to find a time when this makes sense — especially when you can transfer to World of Hyatt, Atmos Rewards, and other loyalty programs that make it easier to get outsized value from your Bilt points.
