Sept. 1's Bilt Rent Day promotion brings a big transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red.

Blue members get 25%, Silver gets 35%, Gold gets 45%, and Platinum gets 75%. The window runs from 12 a.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. PT on Sept. 1, and you can move up to 150,000 Bilt Points during the promo — up from the 100,000-point cap Bilt has used on recent Rent Days.

You can spend $200 in Bilt Cash to bump yourself up one status tier for the promotion, or add another 25% at the Platinum level. This means Blue gets a 35% bonus, Silver gets a 45% bonus, Gold gets a 75% bonus, and Platinum gets a 100% bonus.

This Rent Day can be a great deal for anyone headed to London. A one-way flight to London in Upper Class can start at 29,000 Virgin points, which works out to 17,000 Bilt Points at 75% or 15,000 at 100%. Coach to London starts around 6,000 points each way, so at the 100% bonus level, that's just 3,000 Bilt Points on Rent Day. Just note that Virgin Atlantic adds high fuel surcharges to award tickets on its own metal.

Andrew's Take

This Rent Day promo can be a good deal if you don't mind paying Virgin Atlantic's high fuel surcharges. Just know the percentages are lower than what Bilt usually offers — Gold gets 45% here compared to the 75% it's gotten on recent Rent Days. I'm passing this month, but if you already have a Virgin redemption picked out, it's worth transferring at whatever rate your status gets you.
