Flying Blue is offering up to a [45% discount on miles](https://www.flyingblue.com/en/mileshub?ref=pnm.now) through July 28, 2026\. The discount you get depends on the number of miles you buy:

- 4,000–12,000 miles: 35% off (\~1.98¢ per mile)
- 14,000–28,000 miles: 40% off (\~1.83¢ per mile)
- 30,000+ miles: 45% off (\~1.68¢ per mile)

You can combine this discount with this month's [Flying Blue Promo Rewards](https://www.pnm.now/flying-blue-promo-rewards-july-2026/), which offer tickets from New York-JFK to Europe from 45,000 miles in business class, plus $200 to $300 in taxes and fees. The required miles would cost $756 during this sale, so you can effectively buy a transatlantic business class for right around $1,000.

Flying Blue has offered better discounts in the past — as low as \~1.14¢ per mile in 2022 — but 45% off is still a hefty discount. Purchase limits are 100,000 miles for Explorer members and 300,000 for Elite members.

Andrew's Take

Buying miles speculatively is almost never a good idea, regardless of the price. But if you've already found an award and you're short on miles, this is a reasonable way to top off. Just run the math on your specific redemption first and ensure buying miles is cheaper than paying for your ticket outright.
