# Qatar Airways Privilege Club Now Lets You Earn Avios on Turo Rentals

Turo's basically Airbnb for cars — you're renting from a local owner instead of a counter at the airport. Now, renting through Turo can also put Avios in your account.

Earlier this month, Qatar Airways Privilege Club partnered with Turo, letting members earn Avios on rentals booked in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and France. The earning rate scales with your Privilege Club tier: Burgundy gets 1 Avios per dollar, pound, euro, Australian dollar, or Canadian dollar spent. Silver gets 2, Gold gets 3, and Platinum tops out at 4.

Interestingly, Qatar Airways notes that your earnings are calculated based on the full cost of the rental, including taxes and fees.

After your rental, you can transfer your Qatar Airways Avios to Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, or other airlines that use Avios as their loyalty currency.

For most people without status, this nets out to 1 Avios per dollar on future car rentals. That's not exciting, but it's free to link your accounts and it gets you closer to an award ticket whenever you rent with Turo.
