American Plans Its Biggest Admirals Club Yet for Charlotte

On Tuesday, American Airlines announced that its new Admirals Club at Charlotte (CLT) will be the largest in its network, spanning more than 40,000 square feet. Construction starts this year, but American hasn't given us an opening date just yet.

The design nods to Charlotte's tree canopy and textile history, and the space will be divided into distinct zones, including spa-style shower suites, bars and serveries, and areas to relax, dine, and work.

All of Charlotte's other Admirals Club lounges will stay open during construction.

Andrew's Take

Charlotte is American's second-largest hub, so this expansion is long overdue. This new lounge — plus the airport's upcoming Flagship Lounge — should ease overcrowding while providing passengers with a better experience.
