The Buy Points Sales Worth Knowing This Summer

Buying points isn't usually a good idea — especially if you're already earning them with a credit card — but a few limited-time offers might be worth your time if you're booking summer travel and need to stock up for your flights or hotel stays.

This isn't an exhaustive list of every point and mile sale out there. Rather, these are the sales that I think could be worth your money.

If you're targeted, the Hilton Honors sale is the best of the bunch. You can use the points to book cheap stays at high-end brands like Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, and LXR, or at Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties. Just make sure Standard Room Rewards are available before you buy.

Airline Mile Sales

The most intriguing sale is the targeted 100% bonus on Atmos Rewards points. You can redeem just 45,000 Atmos Rewards points to book a one-way business class ticket from the East Coast to Europe, meaning you'd pay just $846 before taxes and fees with this bonus.

Buying cheap hotel points or airline miles can be worthwhile if you're already planning to pay for a stay or flight, and buying points comes in cheaper than paying outright. Regardless of the price, make sure to find award space and run the numbers before you buy points.
