ICYMI: Bilt Adds Amtrak Guest Rewards As A Transfer Partner

Bilt members can now transfer points to Amtrak Guest Rewards. The partnership went live on Sept. 23, making Amtrak Bilt's first rail partner and its 26th transfer partner. It's also the only transferable points currency that sends points to Amtrak.

Transfers convert at a 2:1 ratio, so 1,000 Bilt points become 500 Amtrak points. Bilt says transfers should post almost instantly, though Amtrak notes they can take up to 72 hours.

Amtrak awards are revenue-based, so your points are worth a roughly fixed amount toward the cash fare — typically between 2.5 and 3 cents each.

It's good to see Bilt and Amtrak partner up. Ever since Chase and Amtrak ended their partnership in 2015, it's been hard to earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points without an Amtrak credit card or actually traveling on Amtrak. I take Amtrak at least a couple of times per year, so I'm excited to use this to fund future trips.
