Rove Adds Copa ConnectMiles as Latest Transfer Partner With 40% Bonus
· 1 min read
Rove just added Copa Airlines ConnectMiles as its newest transfer partner — and it's starting the partnership with a 40% transfer bonus. This bonus is valid through September 30.
ConnectMiles doesn't partner with any major U.S. transferable points currencies, so this is a first. It's a good addition to Rove, given that Copa is a Star Alliance member and doesn't pass along fuel surcharges for partner awards, including flights on ANA, Emirates, Lufthansa, and Swiss.
This can lead to excellent value on some award tickets. For example, Emirates business class from the U.S. or Canada to Dubai (or the rest of the Middle East or Africa) costs just 80,000 ConnectMiles one-way, which works out to about 57,200 Rove miles with the bonus applied.
This matters because Emirates adds high fuel surcharges on award bookings through its Skywards program, so ConnectMiles provides one of the few ways to avoid these fees.
Other good redemptions include one-way transcontinental United business class for 25,000 miles, partner-airline business-class flights to Europe for 70,000 miles, and business-class flights to Japan for 75,000 miles. These prices are all ConnectMiles pricing before the 40% Rove transfer bonus.
Copa ConnectMiles fills a gap that's been sitting wide open: business-class access to Emirates with no fuel surcharges. If you've got Rove miles and you're eyeing Emirates, or if you travel to Europe or Japan in business class, this is worth checking out before the bonus expires at the end of the month.
