Check Your Email: Southwest May Have Dropped 5,000 Free Points in Your Account

Southwest is emailing some Rapid Rewards members to say it added 5,000 bonus points to their accounts, and the airline hasn't said why. Some members were notified of this targeted offer today, while others report receiving the same points bonus last week.

If you got the email, there's nothing to do. There's nothing to register for, nothing to book, and no flight, spend, or purchase is tied to it. The points should already be in your Rapid Rewards account.

No email doesn't necessarily mean no points. At least one member reported a bonus posting under "customer service adjustment" in their account activity days before any notice appeared, so it's worth checking your account either way.
