Southwest's Week of WOW Sale Cuts Fares, Hotels, and Rental Cars

Southwest Airlines kicked off its Week of WOW sale today — and you can use it so save big on flights, hotels, and rental cars.

On the flight side, book by Sept. 17 and you can save up to 40% off base fares on flights running from Oct. 5, 2026, through March 3, 2027 — a window that covers fall getaways, the holidays, and early spring break.

Routes on sale include Austin (AUS) to San Diego (SAN), Nashville (BNA) to Chicago-Midway (MDW), Denver (DEN) to San Diego (SAN), Seattle (SEA) to Nashville (BNA), and Austin (AUS) to San Jose (SJC), though Southwest notes seats, dates, and markets are limited and a 21-day advance purchase is required.

The sale isn't just about airfare. Book a three-day-or-longer Enterprise rental car between now and Sept. 21 for pickup through Dec. 15, and you'll save up to 15% off the base rate. Hotel bookings made during that same window earn 3,000 bonus Rapid Rewards points for stays through Sept. 30, 2027.

Finally, Southwest is also discounting Getaways by Southwest vacation packages, with up to $500 off a five-night package for two.

A 40% fare discount with a five-month travel window is worth looking into if you're already planning a trip on eligible routes. Just note that you won't earn hotel points or be able to use elite status benefits if you book a hotel stay through Southwest.
