Lufthansa will launch nonstop flights between Columbus, Ohio (CMH), and Frankfurt (FRA) on May 5, 2027. It'll be central Ohio's first nonstop flight to Europe, and tickets go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The route will run three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. LH407 leaves Columbus at 4:20 p.m. and lands in Frankfurt at 6:15 a.m. the next day. The return flight, LH406, departs Frankfurt at 11:15 a.m. and arrives Columbus at 2 p.m.

Lufthansa will fly a Boeing 787-9 with its newer Allegris cabins on this route. The plane features 28 lie-flat business class seats, 28 premium economy seats, and 231 economy seats.

If you live in Ohio, this is a real upgrade. One long flight on a new Allegris plane sure beats connecting through Chicago or New York first. Plus, this should be an easy one for saver-level award space given the relatively small market.
