Aeroplan Flash Sale: Buy Points With Up to an 110% Bonus
· 2 min read
Air Canada Aeroplan kicked off a flash sale on purchased points today, offering up to an 110% bonus. The sale runs from July 16 through July 19, 2026, so you've got limited time to make your plans.
At the top tier, the math works out to roughly 1.27 U.S. cents per point. For background, Aeroplan normally sells points at 3.75 Canadian cents each (about 2.7 U.S. cents), and past sales typically topped out at a 100% bonus.

Offers are targeted, so log into your account to see your exact bonus tiers — they typically scale with how many points you buy. Here's the standard offer:
- Buy 5,000 to 25,000 points: 55% bonus
- Buy 30,000 to 80,000 points: 75% bonus
- Buy 90,000 or more points: 110% bonus
Note that if you pay with a U.S. credit card and billing address, you'll skip sales tax on the purchase.
You might consider buying Aeroplan points to take advantage of low-cost transatlantic business-class awards, such as this flight from Boston (BOS) to Zurich (ZRH).

This flight costs 60,000 miles and $57 in taxes and fees each way if you buy 90,000+ points. In turn, you can effectively buy the award for $819 during this flash sale — that’s far cheaper than paying out of pocket.
I like Aeroplan a lot, and 1.27 cents is a good price for a points currency that most blogs peg at 1.4 to 1.5 cents. But "good price" and "good idea" aren't always the same thing. If you've already found a business class award you want to book, this points sale can save you real money over the cash fare. On the other hand, don't buy points speculatively. In almost all cases, points sitting in an account only get less valuable. And remember: if you hold Amex, Chase, Capital One, or Bilt points, you can already transfer to Aeroplan for free.
