Get a 10% Bonus When You Transfer Credit Card and Hotel Points to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
· 1 min read
Cathay Pacific is offering a 10% bonus on points transferred to Asia Miles. The promotion covers eligible credit card and hotel programs, runs from July 27 through August 28, and is open to Asia Miles members with a U.S. or Canadian address (excluding Quebec).
You have to register for this promotion to get the bonus miles. U.S. members can register here, and Canadian members can register here. Make sure to do this before you transfer.
The 10% bonus is capped at 10,000 miles per member, so it stops paying out after you transfer 100,000 points. On the U.S. side, Asia Miles takes transfers from American Express, Bilt, Brex, Capital One, Citi, and Wells Fargo.
Asia Miles is great for booking Cathay Pacific flights with expanded award availability (when compared to booking with partners) and for booking British Airways award tickets with lower fuel surcharges. However, the program has devalued a handful of times over the past year or so, so it's not the deal it once was.
It's worth taking advantage of this bonus if you find an award flight you want to book. But as always, I don't recommend transferring points speculatively — especially to a program known for devaluation.
