Here's a deal to end your week on a high note: Iberia Plus is running a 40% off sale on economy flights between Madrid and three East Coast cities: New York, Boston, and Washington.

After the discount, a one-way ticket costs 11,700 Avios plus roughly $91 in taxes and fees. That's among the best prices out there for a one-way flight to Europe.

The Details

  • Routes: Madrid (MAD) to/from New York-JFK, Boston (BOS), and Washington-Dulles (IAD)
  • Cost: 11,700 Avios + roughly $91 each way
  • Cabin: Economy only
  • Book by: June 29, 2026
  • Travel window: Now through September 30, 2026

Availability is widespread this summer. Here's the award calendar for flights from BOS to MAD in July:

Earning Iberia Avios

If you don't have Iberia Avios readily available, remember you can transfer Avios to Iberia from other airlines that use it. This includes British Airways, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways, and others.

Likewise, you can transfer these credit card points to Iberia Plus:

  • American Express Membership Rewards
  • Bilt
  • Capital One Miles (via British Airways)
  • Chase Ultimate Rewards
  • Citi ThankYou (via Qatar Airways)
  • Wells Fargo Rewards
Andrew's Take
Andrew Kunesh

11,700 Avios and $91 for a ticket to Europe is genuinely cheap. The catch is it's long-haul economy, which I'm rarely excited about. But the East Coast to Madrid is an easy enough flight, and Madrid can connect you deeper into Europe. Just make sure to confirm the seats you want are there before you transfer any points in.
